San Cassiano & Alta Badia
Residence Forcelles is located in the heart of the Dolomites, the first Natural Heritage Site in South Tyrol.
Alta Badia is considered as the centre of the Dolomites. In the south it is bordered by Val di Fassa, in the north by the Puster Valley, in the west by the Gardena Valley, and in the east by the Dolomites and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The village of San Cassiano (1,537 m) is located at the bottom of Armentarola, a beautiful high alpine plateau extending in the direction of Falzarago Pass and the Ampezzano. Hence, the ideal place in unspoiled nature for endless excursions to Lagazoi, Conturines, Lavarella in summer, and a true winter paradise for skiing, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing in winter. Alta Badia is renowned for its ancient traditions and its culinary specialities. Tasty dishes which are offered at different alpine huts, in the entire valley, and in the renowned, Michelin awarded restaurants in San Cassiano and in Corvara. The other villages of Alta Badia, namely Colfosco, Corvara, La Villa and La Valle are also very interesting due to their typical appearance and the splendid panoramic views of the Dolomites with protected areas in the Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez-Odle Nature Parks.
